COLD EXPOSURE TRAINING
- 60 min I 1 session €99
- 60 min I 10 sessions €870
Our Cold Exposure Training is designed to harness the benefits of controlled cold exposure to enhance physical and mental resilience.
Led by our experienced instructor, Alex Grabher, with over 7 years of expertise, this training combines education on the science behind cold exposure with practical, hands-on experience:
- Science & Safety: Explanation of how cold exposure triggers beneficial physiological responses, such as increased endorphin production and reduced inflammation. Guidelines on how to safely practice cold exposure, recognizing limits.
- Breathing Exercises: Techniques to regulate breathing and manage cold-induced stress.
- Cold Exposure Practice (20 minutes): gradually immerse themselves in the lake (temperature ranging from 8-13°C) for a controlled duration, starting with 1-2 minutes and gradually increasing with experience.
- Warm-up & Breathing Techniques: Gentle exercises and stretching to gradually reheat the body. Continued focus on breath control to manage post-exposure sensations and promote relaxation.
Suitable for all levels, whether it’s your first time or you have experience, we will adapt the class to your needs and create a unique experience.
Main Benefits
Enhanced Circulation and Recovery
Cold exposure stimulates increased blood flow circulation, leading to improved recovery times post-exercise and potentially benefiting individuals with conditions such as high blood pressure or diabetes. Additionally, it aids in reducing inflammation, thereby facilitating muscle recovery and injury healing.
Immunity Boost
Cold exposure may enhance immunity by stimulating blood cells that fight off infection, potentially reducing the frequency of common colds and other diseases.
Pain Relief
Cold therapy interferes with pain perception by slowing nerve transmission to the brain, offering relief from localized pain.
Resilience and Mental Toughness
By subjecting oneself to cold stress in a controlled manner, individuals can develop resilience and grit. This resilience extends beyond the cold exposure session, helping individuals better cope with stressors in daily life.
Improved Energy and Focus
It triggers the release of neurotransmitters and a hormones (epinephrine/adrenaline and norepinephrine), enhancing alertness and concentration. These effects can lead to increased energy levels and improved mental clarity, benefiting various cognitive and physical tasks.
Metabolic Benefits
Cold exposure initiates a metabolic response as the body endeavors to uphold its core temperature. This heightened metabolic rate leads to increased calorie expenditure. Furthermore, cold exposure facilitates the transformation of white fat, primarily serving as an energy store, into metabolically active brown fat. Brown fat, unlike its white counterpart, specializes in thermogenesis – the production of heat. Activation of brown fat results in calorie consumption to fuel heat generation, thus enhancing thermogenesis and aiding in cold adaptation.
Mood Enhancement
Cold exposure helps the release of dopamine, a neurotransmitter associated with mood elevation and cognitive function. Even short exposures to cold can lead to sustained improvements in mood, energy levels, and cognitive performance
